Nebraska Licensed Hospice Veterinarian

Job Summary

Offering a flexible part-time opportunity, the Nebraska Licensed Hospice Veterinarian will provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia services to pet families in Omaha, Papillion, and Bennington, Nebraska, with a focus on compassionate end-of-life care without the constraints of a traditional veterinary practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and practice effectively in a mobile veterinary care environment
• Educate pet families on quality-of-life decisions, end-of-life care options, and the euthanasia process with empathy and professionalism

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or equivalent veterinary medical degree
• Active veterinary license in Nebraska or eligibility to obtain one
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments
• Experience in end-of-life conversations and providing compassionate care
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds
