New Jersey Licensed Group Underwriter
Job Summary
Providing Rating & Underwriting services for Stop Loss products, the full-time New Jersey Licensed Group Underwriter will develop and issue proposal rates, manage experience rated renewals for group sizes of 100+, and support the Sales team remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and issue proposal and renewal rates for group size 100+ and alternately funded groups
- Research rate and benefit inconsistencies, providing corrections and recommendations
- Attend meetings with groups and brokers to discuss renewals and proposals, making recommendations as needed
Required qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred in Math, Statistics, or Accounting
- At least three (3) years of experience in the health insurance industry with a focus on Rating/Underwriting
- Stop Loss underwriting experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of underwriting principles, benefit offerings, and rating methodology
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in a Windows-based environment
