New Mexico Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient financial services, the full-time remote New Mexico Billing Specialist will accurately submit insurance claims for various payer types, resolve billing issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, and file insurance claims accurately and timely in accordance with department policies
• Resolve prebilling edits and refer accounts with claim edits for additional review to ensure clean claim submission
• Contact insurance companies and patients to obtain necessary information for claim submissions

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Less than 1-year clerical or customer service experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT codes, and claim forms preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products required
• Ability to provide a high-speed internet connection for a home office
