Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Remote HCC Coder with CRC will review and code various medical records for reimbursement and compliance, ensuring adherence to federal regulations while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Reviews and assigns appropriate codes to inpatient and outpatient medical records, ensuring compliance with federal regulations
• Abstracts essential data for quality improvement and communicates issues to the Clinical Coding Manager & Supervisor
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and resolves pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess one of the following coding certifications at time of hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC, or RHIT/RHIA with additional credential within one year
• One to three years of experience as a coder required
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with an encoder and Electronic Medical Records preferred
