New York CPA Accounting Director

Job Summary

Leading a team of 10 in a full-time salaried position, the New York CPA Accounting Director will manage the accounting services vertical, focusing on delivering accounting, bookkeeping, monthly reporting, and audit readiness across a multi-client portfolio, with the option for remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document, and own firm-wide standards and workflows for client Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general ledger processes
• Review and approve monthly financial statements prior to client distribution, ensuring quality and compliance
• Lead client relationships end to end, including scoping, pricing, onboarding, and identifying expansion opportunities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA certification or active candidate preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a consulting and advisory firm, with 5+ years in leadership roles
• Strong working knowledge of AP, AR, and period-end close processes
• Experience with audit preparation and management of client escalations
