New York Data Abstractor

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote New York Data Abstractor will review patient records, identify care gaps, and coordinate with clinical staff while ensuring accurate medical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyzes electronic medical records to identify required documentation and reports discrepancies
• Maintains productivity logs and adheres to department standards while participating in training and meetings
• Reviews clinical documentation to extract key data elements, ensuring compliance with CMS specifications

Required qualifications

• High school graduate with 1-2 years of clinical or core measure abstracting experience or completion of a certified nurse assistant program
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet use
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with Cerner or similar clinical electronic record systems preferred
