New York Licensed Associate General Counsel

Job Summary

To support a growing legal team, the full-time New York Licensed Associate General Counsel will manage contract negotiations, provide regulatory advisory services, and oversee disputes and M&A due diligence in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements with clients and vendors, including administrative services agreements and data security agreements
• Advise on privacy and data protection requirements, ERISA compliance, and licensing matters related to self-funded health plans
• Manage disputes and coordinate with outside counsel, ensuring effective resolution and communication with business stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• JD degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the practice of law in at least one state, with preference for New York State bar admission
• 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting
• Experience with commercial agreements and transactions in a health plan environment
• Knowledge of medical licensing, corporate practice of medicine statutes, and regulatory compliance frameworks
