New York Licensed Investment Funds Attorney
Job Summary
To support a growing investment funds practice, the full-time New York Licensed Investment Funds Attorney will manage the formation and structuring of various investment funds, advise on regulatory compliance, and provide ongoing legal support for fund operations in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the formation and structuring of investment funds, including drafting and negotiating core fund documents
- Advise on fund economics and governance in partnership with tax, finance, and investment teams
- Manage securities and regulatory filings and design compliance frameworks for fund activities
Required qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed (or in-house eligible) to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; NY bar admission or eligibility preferred
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience in fund formation and investment management, ideally at a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel
- Deep familiarity with VC/PE fund structures and related documentation
- Experience with SEC and securities compliance related to private fund offerings
- Strong project management skills with the ability to organize multiple stakeholders and deadlines
