Non-QM Underwriter
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the remote Non-QM Underwriter will conduct thorough credit and collateral reviews of loan files, calculate income for complex borrower profiles, and ensure compliance with client and investor guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive credit and collateral reviews of loan files, identifying deficiencies and calculating income using standard and alternative methods
- Review title, trust, and condo documents to ensure compliance with guidelines and clear title at closing
- Communicate effectively with processors, loan officers, and client account managers to facilitate timely underwriting approvals
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of recent experience in Non-QM underwriting
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws related to the mortgage banking industry
- Expertise in calculating income for various borrower profiles, including self-employed and complex income sources
- Strong understanding of AUS (DU, LP) results and FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple loans simultaneously
