Job Summary
Managing an assigned loan pipeline, the full-time Non-QM Underwriter will underwrite complex non-qualified mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with investor guidelines and maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite Non-QM loans and ensure they conform to applicable investor and insurer guidelines
- Analyze borrower income and documentation, including complex self-employed scenarios
- Collaborate with sales, processing, and compliance teams to resolve loan issues and ensure timely closings
Required qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on Non-QM mortgage underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of Non-QM investor guidelines and alternative income documentation
- Experience evaluating complex borrower scenarios and making independent underwriting decisions
- Deep understanding of federal and state laws related to mortgage lending
- Aptitude for learning loan origination software and other technologies
