Non-QM Underwriter
Job Summary
Responsible for underwriting complex non-qualified mortgage loan applications, the full-time Non-QM Underwriter will manage an assigned loan pipeline, ensuring compliance with investor guidelines while working remotely or onsite.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite Non-QM loans and support Conventional loans as needed, ensuring salability and compliance with investor guidelines
- Analyze complex borrower income and documentation, calculating various income types to ensure timely loan closings
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and respond to Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews
Required qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on Non-QM mortgage underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of Non-QM investor guidelines and alternative income documentation
- Experience evaluating complex borrower scenarios and making independent underwriting decisions
- Deep understanding of federal and state laws related to mortgage underwriting
- Aptitude for learning loan origination software and basic computer skills
