Job Summary
Supporting nonprofit clients remotely, the full-time Nonprofit Chief Financial Officer will oversee financial statements, provide strategic guidance, and ensure compliance while managing a range of financial functions.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and the creation of financial statements for clients
- Communicate and coach Executive Directors and CEOs, providing financial education and strategic guidance
- Complete high-level financial analyses to support client decision-making and identify systematic weaknesses
Required qualifications
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in nonprofit and/or private foundation financial management
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of GAAP as applied to nonprofit accounting and familiarity with IRS Form 990-PF requirements
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, with comfort in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience supporting private foundations, including grantmaking activities and regulatory compliance
