Job Summary
Offering a part-time contract opportunity, the North Carolina CPA Controller will manage financial reporting integrity, oversee the monthly close process, and provide technical accounting guidance while working remotely with one on-site day in Durham.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and document GAAP-compliant accounting policies, including revenue recognition and cost allocation
- Oversee the monthly close process and ensure accurate financial reporting by reviewing reconciliations and financial statements
- Lead the outsourced accounting partner in resolving complex transactions and maintaining accountability for deliverables
Required qualifications
- Active CPA license
- 8+ years of accounting experience, starting in public accounting
- Controller or senior technical accounting experience at a venture-backed technology or healthcare company
- Hands-on experience with ASC 606 and financial statement audits
- Experience in designing cost allocation and gross margin reporting for software or services businesses
