Job Summary
Providing senior technical leadership, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Cloud Architect will design, implement, and mature secure and scalable cloud solutions for the Department of Public Instruction while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and guide the implementation of secure and cost-effective cloud solutions that meet business and compliance requirements
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture frameworks, standards, and operational practices to ensure resilience and security
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure cloud solutions are secure, auditable, and aligned with agency and state requirements
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field with six years of progressive IT experience, including four years in cloud architecture
- Experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud environments
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code, preferably with Terraform
- Experience supporting cloud architecture for enterprise data platforms such as Azure Databricks or Power BI
- Familiarity with secure integration patterns for APIs and hybrid data exchange
