Job Summary
To support the nuclear energy sector, a remote Senior QME-1 Valve Qualification Engineer will lead ASME QME-1 qualification activities for safety-related mechanical equipment, focusing on the G12 Hydraulic Control Unit Scram Valve, while exercising technical judgment and ensuring compliance with nuclear quality standards on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Review and approve QME-1 qualification specifications, test plans, and vendor procedures
- Participate in test readiness reviews and monitor qualification test execution
- Identify and investigate test anomalies and interface with cross-functional teams
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering, with a Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in nuclear power and ASME QME-1 valve qualification
- Proven experience with valve assemblies and nuclear quality assurance
- Experience with active mechanical equipment testing and vendor/test laboratory interface
