Job Summary
To support cancer patients through their care journey, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Oncology Nurse Navigator will manage treatment plans, facilitate transitions from inpatient to outpatient settings, and provide education and resources, working in a hybrid schedule of remote and onsite responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate coordination of appointments, diagnostic testing, and procedures for oncology patients
- Provide individualized assistance and education to patients, families, and caregivers throughout the cancer continuum
- Assess patients' health practices and compliance with treatment plans, documenting findings and coordinating care as needed
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school, or an ADN with a commitment to obtain a BSN
- Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) certification required within three years of hire
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience with at least one year in oncology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
