North Carolina Licensed Pharmacist
Job Summary
To support medication therapy evaluations, the remote North Carolina Licensed Pharmacist will review clinical documentation and Prior Authorization requests, engage in peer discussions with medical providers, and contribute to the development of Utilization Management strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct clinical evaluations of medication therapy and review Prior Authorization requests using Preferred Drug List criteria
- Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with medical providers regarding Prior Authorization reviews and consult on pharmacy-related questions
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiency within the Clinical Call Centers and Prior Authorization department
Required qualifications
- PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy with relevant specialty experience
- Active North Carolina state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist
- Four years of experience in clinical pharmacy
- Experience in managed care pharmaceutical services is a plus
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to perform clinical reviews using relevant compendia and clinical trial data
