Job Summary
To support patient safety, the part-time North Carolina Licensed Safety Observer will virtually monitor patients, communicate their status to nursing teams, and document observations using telehealth technology.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain constant virtual observation of assigned patients and report any changes to the nursing teams
- Document patient observations in electronic health records and escalate unsafe events as necessary
- Collaborate with bedside and virtual nursing staff to implement and review patient safety plans
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; enrollment in nursing or medical programs strongly preferred
- Preferred listing on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina or initiation of the process within one year of employment
- BLS certification must be completed by the end of new hire orientation
- CPI certification is strongly preferred
- In-patient hospital experience is preferred
