North Carolina Licensed Safety Observer

Job Summary

To support patient safety initiatives, the part-time North Carolina Licensed Safety Observer will perform virtual monitoring of patients, maintaining constant observation and communication with nursing teams while working onsite in Durham, North Carolina.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain constant virtual observation of assigned patients using telehealth technology
• Communicate any changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff and document observations in electronic health records
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement and review safety plans for patients in seclusion or restraint

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; enrollment in nursing or medical programs preferred
• Experience in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred
• Listing on the Nurse Aid Registry of North Carolina preferred or initiation of the process within one year of employment
• BLS certification must be completed by the end of new hire orientation
• CPI certification is strongly preferred
