North Carolina Licensed Service Access Nurse

Job Summary

To support the Patient Revenue Management Organization, the full-time North Carolina Licensed Service Access Nurse will manage the patient intake process for non-critical transfer patients, ensuring appropriate care levels and financial screening, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patient care levels and determine severity of illness for admissions
• Coordinate with clinical staff to secure necessary authorizations and facilitate alternative care arrangements
• Collect and analyze patient insurance information, initiating pre-admission authorizations as needed

Required qualifications

• BSN required
• At least 3 years of nursing experience
• Current NC or compact state nursing license
• Expertise in medical terminology and clinical data interpretation
• Working knowledge of ICD-9/CPT-4 coding
