Job Summary
To support the development of safety measures for a first-of-a-kind used nuclear fuel recycling facility, the full-time Safety Analysis Engineer will manage hazard evaluations, develop safety basis documents, and support various safety programs, with the option to work remotely or from Santa Clara, CA.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain safety basis documents in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations
- Support Integrated Safety Analysis, Criticality Safety Evaluations, and Fire Hazard Analysis
- Identify and evaluate hazards and accident sequences using inductive and deductive methods
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, or related discipline; a master's or Ph.D. is highly desirable
- 3-5 years of experience in nuclear safety, process safety, or similar high-hazard environments
- Experience with Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) and Failure Modes and Effects (FMEA) PHA methods
