Nuclear Safety Expert

Job Summary

To support a short-term project, the full-time Nuclear Safety Expert will audit AI model responses to sensitive nuclear-related inquiries, classifying requests and evaluating safety while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Classify user requests as benign, dual-use, or adversarial and assess the safety of AI model responses
• Rank AI model answers, providing justifications and suggesting ideal responses for each request
• Analyze dual-use requests to identify sensitivity, legitimate purposes, and appropriate access to information

Required qualifications

• Relevant degree in nuclear engineering, reactor physics, or related field
• Five or more years of professional experience in nuclear safety or related disciplines
• Experience with technical work review against standards (licensing, inspection, peer review) or AI red teaming
• Background in safeguards and nonproliferation, health physics, or radiation safety
• Citizenship or residency in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or the European Union
