Job Summary
To capitalize on evolving market dynamics, the remote NY Licensed Virtual Power Trader will create and implement proprietary trading strategies within NYISO, manage trading decisions, and leverage quantitative analysis to enhance profitability.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and implement virtual electricity trading strategies targeting day-ahead and real-time market opportunities
- Evaluate market fundamentals and price behavior to identify risk-adjusted trading opportunities
- Manage trading decisions, including position sizing and capital deployment, while maintaining appropriate risk controls
Required qualifications:
- Established experience trading wholesale electricity products, particularly within NYISO
- Verifiable record of profitable trading results with historical P&L documentation
- Advanced understanding of day-ahead and real-time market structures and locational marginal pricing (LMP)
- Strong quantitative reasoning and statistical analysis skills
- Proficiency with analytical tools, with experience in Excel, Python, or SQL preferred
