Ohio Licensed Application Security Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance application security, the full-time remote Ohio Licensed Application Security Engineer will plan and perform manual penetration testing on traditional and AI-enabled applications, identify vulnerabilities, and collaborate with development teams for remediation while also developing automation tools and providing mentorship to team members.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute end-to-end penetration tests for applications, documenting vulnerabilities and remediation recommendations
• Develop and maintain custom scripts and tools to improve application security testing efficiency
• Research and evaluate new application security methodologies and tools to enhance testing capabilities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with at least 12 years in Information Technology or Business
• 5+ years of experience in IT and/or cybersecurity, with a focus on application security
• Hands-on experience in manual application penetration testing and offensive security assessments
• Advanced knowledge of common application security vulnerabilities and secure development practices
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to less-experienced professionals
