Job Summary

To support coding operations in a remote environment, the full-time Ohio Licensed Coder I will abstract and assign valid CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while managing less complex coding tasks with oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately abstract information and assign appropriate coding for billing systems
• Review and resolve coding denials while maintaining compliance with established guidelines
• Communicate regularly with office managers and providers to meet coding production and quality standards

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required)
• 1-4 years of physician coding experience (preferred)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification (required)
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) (required)
