Oklahoma AS400 Developer/Administrator
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced AS400 Developer/Administrator for a part-time contract role (20 hours/week) that supports a state government client's IBM AS/400 environment, focusing on legacy application development and application-level system administration in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot legacy applications written in RPG and Control Language (CL)
- Investigate and resolve operational bugs, batch run issues, and user-reported system problems
- Manage application-level security, user profiles, and job scheduling while coordinating with the hosting provider for system maintenance
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on AS400 (IBM i, iSeries) application development and support experience
- Strong proficiency in RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPGLE, CL, and SQL on DB2 for i
- Prior experience working in a hosted or managed AS400 environment
- Proven background in application-level IBM i work management and security administration
- Experience with file transfer automation (FTP/SFTP)
