Job Summary

To support accurate and compliant coding of outpatient medical encounters, the full-time remote Certified Coder will analyze clinical information, assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes, and maintain productivity and accuracy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient encounters
• Identify documentation gaps and initiate queries for clarification to ensure accurate coding
• Collaborate with team members and internal partners to complete coding tasks efficiently and accurately

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification as AHIMA-CCA, AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CPC-A, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC
• Experience applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines
• Ability to resolve routine coding edits and maintain productivity standards
• Familiarity with coding tools and references for accurate code assignment
