Job Summary

To support accurate and compliant coding of outpatient medical encounters, the full-time Certified Coder will analyze clinical information to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Analyze medical records to assign diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with coding guidelines
  • Identify documentation gaps and initiate queries for clarification to ensure accurate code assignment
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while managing assigned work queues and resolving routine coding edits
Required qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification as AHIMA-CCA, AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CPC-A, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC
  • Experience applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for outpatient encounters
  • Ability to review documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Familiarity with coding guidelines and payer rules
