Job Summary
To ensure accurate clinical documentation and coding integrity, the full-time Oklahoma Licensed Coding Specialist will perform audits and code patient charts remotely while collaborating with clinicians and operational leaders to support quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Utilizes computerized coding equipment to code all diagnoses and procedures in accordance with guidelines while meeting quality and productivity standards
- Provides assistance to field staff regarding OASIS, HOPE, and ICD-10 queries, ensuring accurate coding practices
- Reviews assessments and plans of care to ensure that coded diagnoses are accurately reflected in documentation
Required qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- Two years of relevant coding experience
- Oklahoma state certification as OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C), Home Care Clinical Specialist (HCS-O), Home Care Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCS-D), Home Care Coding Specialist-Hospice (HCS-H), or Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience with computerized coding/abstracting equipment
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines and practices
