Online Writing Tutor
Job Summary
To support online students in their academic pursuits, the part-time Online Writing Tutor will provide formative writing instruction and feedback, focusing on neurodivergent students and those with disabilities, while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Provide developmental writing instruction and feedback to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students
- Review student writing for content, organization, and adherence to various academic styles, primarily APA 7th edition
- Create and deliver writing-related webinars and instructional resources targeting specific student needs
Required qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in English or a related field
- Three to five years of relevant experience in composition writing instruction or writing center work
- Expertise in APA style (7th edition) and familiarity with social science research
- Experience working with adult, multilingual, neurodiverse, and online learners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with tools like ScreenPal for providing feedback
