Job Summary
Supporting healthcare administrative data on a 100% remote contract basis, the Ontology Data Specialist will design and maintain RDF, OWL, and SKOS ontologies, align internal models with FHIR, SNOMED, and ICD, and query knowledge graphs using SPARQL while collaborating with domain experts.
Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain ontologies for the healthcare administrative domain using RDF, OWL, and SKOS
- Map and align internal models with healthcare standards such as FHIR, SNOMED, and ICD
- Query and validate knowledge graphs using SPARQL and provide technical guidance on modeling tradeoffs
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in data or knowledge engineering, focusing on ontology or knowledge representation
- Hands-on experience with RDF, OWL, SKOS, or similar technologies
- Proficiency in SPARQL and ontology authoring tools like Prot g
- Working knowledge of ontology design patterns and healthcare standards including FHIR, SNOMED, and ICD
- Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j or TypeDB, along with Python and exposure to NoSQL and SQL
