Job Summary
To support the migration of Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters, the contract OpenShift Engineer will execute platform upgrades, ensuring minimal service disruption while working remotely in the Eastern or Central time zone.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the 1.6 platform migration across the cluster fleet using standard in-service and blue/green-style upgrades
- Plan, validate, and perform Kubernetes/OpenShift cluster upgrades while maintaining vendor-supported versions
- Automate upgrade and operational workflows using Bash, Ansible, and Python
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of work experience
- Proficiency in Linux system administration
- Experience with deploying, configuring, and supporting Kubernetes or OpenShift distributions
- Working knowledge of the Kubernetes API server and networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with Git, GitLab, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows
