Job Summary
To support a growing eye care organization, the full-time Ophthalmic Patient Access Representative will manage incoming patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide exceptional customer service while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls from patients, addressing inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments across various ophthalmology sub-specialties while maintaining accurate electronic health records
- Collaborate with external medical professionals and internal departments to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Required qualifications
- Prior medical experience is required
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in healthcare administration is a plus
- Previous experience in a call center, customer service, or healthcare setting is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and insurance concepts
