Ophthalmology Medical Director
Job Summary
To support innovative clinical trials, the full-time Ophthalmology Medical Director will design and oversee clinical development plans, provide medical oversight during trials, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, while working remotely from anywhere in the US.
Key responsibilities
- Design and recommend clinical development plans in collaboration with the Medical Lead and cross-functional teams
- Provide 24/7 medical support for clinical trial-related inquiries and safety issues
- Review and analyze participant eligibility and adverse events, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Required qualifications
- Medical Degree with completed residency in Ophthalmology
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in drug development within a biotech/pharmaceutical company or academic clinical research institute
- Strong scientific writing skills and ability to analyze ocular images
- Experience with ICH/GCP guidelines and clinical trial data communication
- Willingness to work across different ophthalmic indications
