Ophthalmology Medical Monitor

Job Summary

To support innovative clinical trials in Ophthalmology, the part-time contract Ophthalmology Medical Monitor will provide medical monitoring and study startup activities, advise on clinical trial-related medical questions, and ensure compliance with safety protocols while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical monitoring and support for 1-3 Ophthalmology programs under the direction of the Global Medical Lead
• Review and analyze eligibility of participants, adverse events, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Develop and review operational, medical monitoring, and safety plans, and generate safety-related documentation

Required qualifications

• Medical Degree with completion of residency in Ophthalmology and active or prior Board Certification
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in drug development within a biotech/pharmaceutical company or academic clinical research institute
• Excellent scientific writing skills and experience analyzing clinical trial data
• Proficiency with ICH/GCP guidelines and understanding of medical terminology and clinical research
• Willingness to work across different ophthalmic indications
