Oracle AWS Migration Architect
Job Summary
Seeking an Oracle AWS Migration Architect for a full-time remote position, this role will manage the complete database migration lifecycle, focusing on rehosting Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS while ensuring operational readiness, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS, including discovery and assessment of existing environments
- Define migration approaches, execute schema and data migrations, and plan mock migrations and production cutovers
- Provide post-go-live hypercare support, conducting root-cause analysis and coordinating with various teams throughout the migration process
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, including production support and database migration responsibilities
- Strong administration experience with Oracle versions 11g through 19c, preferably 21c, across various environments
- Demonstrated experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS, with hands-on knowledge of Amazon EC2 and related services
- Experience with Oracle RAC, GoldenGate, and high availability configurations, including Oracle Data Guard
- Ability to create detailed migration plans, cutover runbooks, and validation checklists
