Oracle Database Administrator
Job Summary
Supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency's Appian-based contract writing system, the remote Oracle Database Administrator will manage Oracle database administration, security, and outage response while facilitating data design and migration for IDEAS Next Generation.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and tune Oracle database instances in coordination with hosting providers and DISA administrators
- Define and maintain database security standards, manage access, and lead troubleshooting of database-related outages
- Support data integration and migration efforts, including analyzing and validating legacy contract data transfers into IDEAS NG
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a production Oracle Database Administrator on a supported Oracle release
- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills, with working knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB SQL
- Experience with Oracle backup and recovery using RMAN, and performance tuning using AWR and ASH
- Hands-on data migration experience, including source-to-target mapping and transformation scripting
- Familiarity with Oracle Database STIG implementation in a DoD Risk Management Framework environment
