Oracle Database Consultant
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Oracle Database Consultant will provide comprehensive support for database and application infrastructure, focusing on solution design, infrastructure analysis, and disaster recovery for various clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer IT solutions, including database server configuration and maintenance
- Administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans while ensuring maximum uptime and recoverability for databases
- Participate in and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance monitoring checks and overall client value
Required qualifications:
- Experience in installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases and relevant administration tools
- Familiarity with automation technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, and SALT
- Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging complex database issues
- Experience with cloud-native database monitoring tools, including AWS CloudWatch and Google Cloud Operations
- Knowledge of database migrations from various engines to PostgreSQL, utilizing tools like ora2pg and AWS/GCP/Azure Database Migration Services
