Job Summary
Coordinating and facilitating the authorization process for patients, the full-time Oregon Licensed Prior Authorization Specialist will efficiently obtain medical procedure authorizations, process clinical documentation for insurance carriers, and communicate with clinical staff while working remotely within Oregon.
Key responsibilities:
- Efficiently obtain all authorizations for medical procedures prior to scheduled dates of service
- Process authorizations and submit clinical supporting documentation to insurance carriers
- Monitor authorization requests to ensure timely processing and completion, communicating approvals and denials to the ordering physician
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in a medical office
- 2+ years of experience interacting with insurance companies
- 2+ years of experience in ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
