Job Summary
To support the organ donation process, the full-time Organ Placement Coordinator will assess, prioritize, and assign incoming organ and tissue offers while managing caseloads and ensuring smooth transitions between shifts, all performed remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, prioritize, and assign all incoming organ and tissue offers to Organ Placement Coordinators on duty
- Monitor and adjust team members' caseloads for balance and lead turnover meetings for smooth shift transitions
- Communicate donor medical information and coordinate organ transportation to maximize utilization and minimize ischemia times
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related health field, or equivalent work experience
- Three years of organ allocation experience at an OPO or similar training
- Experience with Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO) or UNOS
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology and excellent time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record data entry
