Job Summary
To support technical research and AI safety evaluations, the remote Contract Organic Chemistry & Chemical Threat Subject Matter Expert (SME) will evaluate AI-generated chemistry content, assess chemical synthesis approaches, and identify potential safety and security risks associated with AI-enabled chemistry tools.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated chemistry content for scientific accuracy and assess potential safety or security risks
- Analyze organic synthesis approaches and chemical processes regarding chemical safety and dual-use risk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop evaluation criteria and document findings for technical assessments
Required qualifications
- Advanced degree in Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience in dual-use chemistry and chemical safety and security
- Strong technical understanding of organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms
- Experience evaluating scientific accuracy and feasibility of chemical synthesis approaches
- Ability to critically assess complex scientific information and identify technical risks
