Outpatient Coding Manager

Job Summary

To ensure effective operations and compliance, the full-time remote Outpatient Coding Manager will oversee the daily functions of the outpatient coding department, manage a team of coding professionals, and collaborate with various departments to optimize the revenue cycle process.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate outpatient coding operations to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations
• Serve as a clinical coding subject matter expert, analyzing documentation issues and collaborating with clinical staff
• Oversee the management of accounts receivables and ensure accurate assignment of ICD-10 CM and CPT-4 codes for various outpatient services

Required qualifications

• Associate degree with 7 or more years of experience in coding facility outpatient medical records; relevant experience may substitute for education
• 3 years of supervisory or management experience in the coding field
• Experience managing multi-facility coding departments is preferred
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is required
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
