Outpatient Surgery Coder

Job Summary

The full-time Outpatient Surgery Coder will be responsible for the timely and accurate abstraction of outpatient surgeries across multiple specialties, working remotely while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Utilizes technical coding expertise to review medical records and abstract diagnosis codes with a minimum of 98% accuracy
• Provides documentation feedback to clients and communicates new billing and coding guidelines to providers
• Collaborates with operational areas to resolve incorrect claim issues and assists with coding reimbursement assistance

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification - CPC, COC, CCS, or CASCC preferred
• 2+ years of experience in outpatient surgery coding across multiple specialties
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 coding
• Proficient in MS Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
