Outpatient Wound Care Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare organization, the full-time Outpatient Wound Care Coder will accurately abstract and enter data into electronic medical record systems while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various outpatient accounts following established guidelines
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting needs
• Communicate with physicians and clinical documentation teams to clarify and resolve coding issues

Required qualifications:

• Possession of an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential
• Experience with outpatient facility coding and wound care coding
• Familiarity with Epic and 3M systems
• A minimum of 3 years of coding experience, preferably in a Trauma Level 1 or Academic Teaching facility
