Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation practices, the full-time salaried PA Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will support an organization-wide system by educating clinical teams, auditing patient charts, and ensuring compliance with CMS coding guidelines in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Directly review patient charts to ensure clarity and accuracy in documentation reflecting severity of illness
- Provide ongoing education and training to clinical care teams on current documentation and coding trends
- Collaborate with the Corporate Manager of Clinical Documentation Improvement to develop efficiencies within the department
Required qualifications:
- RN, NP, or PA licensure is required
- Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred
- 3+ years of healthcare experience is required
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare reimbursement systems and coding structures is preferred
- RHIA, RHIT, and CCS certifications are preferred; CCDS or CDIP is also preferred
