Packaging Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a mid-career Packaging Engineer for a contracted remote position, the successful candidate will focus on structural design and CAD, creating production-ready designs while collaborating with on-site teams for prototype assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Create precise, production-ready structural designs, dielines, and parametric models for paperboard and corrugated packaging using ArtiosCAD
- Ensure designs optimize material yield, minimize waste, and maximize structural integrity while accounting for automated production constraints
- Produce standard operating procedures, technical spec sheets, and assembly guides for production and sample teams
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience drafting and outputting dielines in ArtiosCAD (non-negotiable)
- Strong technical understanding of paperboard, folding cartons, and corrugated materials
- Background in Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 3-7+ years of hands-on structural packaging design experience in manufacturing environments
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for clear asynchronous technical handoffs
