Pandemic Preparedness Veterinarian

Job Summary

To support the implementation of the MAKE-READY project in North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo, the part-time Pandemic Preparedness Veterinary Specialist will provide technical expertise in animal health, zoonotic disease prevention, and One Health, working remotely on a when-actually-employed basis for specific assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise on One Health, veterinary epidemiology, and emergency preparedness
• Contribute to or lead capacity building events and design training materials related to veterinary epidemiology and disease surveillance
• Review and develop national strategy documents and support the creation of Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines

Required qualifications

• Advanced university degree in veterinary medicine, animal health, epidemiology, agriculture, or related fields
• At least five years of relevant experience in animal health, veterinary services, or public health preparedness
• Working knowledge of English; knowledge of Albanian, Macedonian, or Serbian is an asset
