Job Summary
Supporting the Biotechnology and Process Development patent practice, the full-time remote Patent Coordinator will manage patent filings, maintain prosecution dockets, and coordinate with attorneys and outside counsel to ensure accurate and timely processing of patent documents.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and file patent documents with the USPTO and WIPO, including applications and IDSs
- Maintain and monitor patent prosecution dockets, reviewing correspondence and flagging deadlines
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing communications, calendars, and travel arrangements
Required qualifications:
- Associate's degree and 2 years of legal experience, or equivalent experience in a technical school setting
- High school diploma/GED with 4 years of legal experience
- Three or more years of recent patent prosecution support experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Experience with patent prosecution documents and deadlines, including coordination with attorneys and foreign associates
- Familiarity with intellectual property management systems and electronic filing systems, such as USPTO and WIPO
