Patient Access Associate

Job Summary

Supporting the scheduling stage of the referral process, the remote Patient Access Associate will manage appointment scheduling, triage communications, and coordinate visit logistics for participants in a non-clinical role.

Key responsibilities

• Schedules appointments for participants, including harder-to-place and out-of-network referrals, within regulatory timeframes
• Triages incoming communications from participants and care teams, resolving routine issues and escalating complex matters
• Manages pre-visit logistics, including confirmation calls and rescheduling no-shows, while maintaining accurate appointment status in the system

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of experience in healthcare scheduling or patient access preferred
• Associate's degree or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification is a plus
• Experience scheduling specialty or hard-to-place appointments strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance (Medicare/Medicaid)
• Proficiency in electronic health records and scheduling tools, with strong skills in Microsoft Office
