Patient Access Representative

Job Summary

To support outpatient services, the part-time Patient Access Representative will manage patient registration, switchboard operations, and emergency room coverage, with shifts available during daytime hours and some evenings and weekends in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities:

• Enter and verify patient information in the Meditech system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety protocols
• Conduct patient interviews to collect demographic and insurance details, and pre-register patients according to departmental standards
• Assist co-workers and adapt schedules to meet patient and departmental needs while maintaining a high accuracy rate in registrations

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2-4 years of experience in a clinic or hospital setting
• Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Meditech MAGIC
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and insurance verification processes
• Previous experience in a switchboard or customer service role preferred
